odds and ends

just a bunch of random iPhone pics to share, because i can.  plus, it's sunday, and nobody reads my blog on the weekends anyway.

on the day before thanksgiving, i geared up for a busy day of cupcaking with a lovely cup of red velvet hot cocoa from coffee bean.  do you like my hello kitty ring?

i noticed that they've also come out with their own holiday version of the cold cup, complete with adorable red and white striped straw (and no, i didn't buy one):

the bean loves her some lotso.

the teen and rock-ell got their ears pierced (that one up there on the top).  i tried to resist it, but in the end, it just wasn't the hill i want to die on.  i'm sure there'll be other things to argue over.

i added this to my wish list for santa.  the tires have hello kitty-shaped tread!

mollydog got comfy in her favorite chair and watched a little tv with the bean:

i met up with my pal lilcee, who'd made the trek out to house of pies for thanksgiving dessert.  she'd generously offered to pick up a couple for me, which was good since we've boycotted marie callender's (super horrendous service the last time we went).  we met up roughly halfway between her house and mine, where we shook our heads over the ridiculousness of folks camping out at best buy for black friday deals.

i got a good start on my collection of hello kitty watches from mcdonald's happy meals:

and the hub got our christmas lights up.

and guess what?  only three more days of NaBloPoMo!  whee!

  1. I do most of my reading on weekends, actually. I personally really like the odds and ends type posts with all the different pictures! You sound like you've been busy!

  2. I read on Sundays! I love cell phone pic posts! When dealing with teenagers, it's good to know when to pick your battles. $20 says she'll be completely over that piercing and yank it out within the year! I'm trying to resist the allure of the HK watch at McD's. I'm failing miserably and will probably go today and get them for um, the princess.

  3. I just wanted to say I read your blog on Sundays! I see I am not the only one.

I really want the hello kitty bike too now. I think I deserve it. Just need to get it to England...

  4. I thought of you this weekend as I passed an end cap at Target loaded with Hello Kitty goodies! Blender, waffle maker (which I know you already have and use regularly) and other various kitchen items.

  5. dude. i'm so picking up some HK watches now. ugh. so much for saving up for presents for other people :/ but i'm laughing pretty hard about the teen's new piercing. i went through that phase where i really really wanted it. even when i was like, 20. then i realized...wow. so over it. so she'll be over it pretty quickly, too. you's a cool mom. :D

  6. "hill to die on" - one phrase that will never cease to be hilarious to me. :)

  7. I, too, do most of my reading on the weekends. At least the teen didn't get a nose ring? Right? Silver lining, something you taught me :)
