saying goodbye to 2011

new year's eve at the house of wan was pretty uneventful.  the ILs headed up to the mountains with some friends, and somehow the teen got stuck sitting at home with us instead of going out to party like a rock star.

but you know what?  it was an evening of family time - quiet, relaxing, and full o'lots of good grub.  the hub fired up the barbecue - with the insanely warm and disgusting 85-degree weather that day, it was a pretty nice evening.  i sent him out with this:

and about 15 minutes later he came back inside with this.

in the meantime, i threw together some fun pizza pinwheels for the bean.

plus, i ground up a whole pack of oreos and mixed it up with melted marshmallows for picky palate's no-bake cookies & cream bars.

after we were stuffed silly, i busted out my forever lazy.  oh, yes.

the bean got a little silly, trying to keep herself awake.

alas, she was out long before the ball dropped.

that's a wrap on 2011, folks.  i'm excited to see what 2012 has in store for us!  it's gonna be great.
