using all the cookiemaking tools

i've gotten to do some pretty fun cookies lately.  this set was actually from awhile ago, but i don't think i ever got around to sharing them here:

i wasn't at all sure about how they'd turn out, but i think they ended up working out pretty well.  you can tell who they're supposed to be, right?  right?  heh.

and then i was given this to use as inspiration for a set of party favors:

super cute, right?  i love the color combo almost as much as i love dots, hearts and stripes.  so i busted out a few of my favorite cutters and got to work.  when i was done, though, i thought it was missing a little something.

i broke out the gold sparkle dust, mixed it with a little clear alcohol (aka vodka, toasted marshmallow flavored to be exact), took out a brush and did a little touch-up.

my lighting is really bad, so i don't know if you can see a difference, but it looks really good in person.

also, i really really need to work on my airbrushing.  i don't know what i'm doing wrong, but the spray is definitely getting underneath the stencil.  bah.

although that kind of worked in my favor for the other set i airbrushed...sorta.  look:

i was pretty excited that i got to use my silhouette die-cutter to create my own eiffel tower stencil, and in this case the uneven spray made it look a little...vintage-y.  or at least that's what i managed to convince myself.

practice!  i need more practice.
