in the blink of an eye

she was born at 2:40 in the morning 21 years ago today.  YES, TWENTY ONE.  OH EM GEE.

i was instantly in love with this gorgeous little baby girl.  don't laugh at my eyebrows.  or hair.  or...well, pretty much anything else about my appearance in this photograph.  it was 1995, people.

to me she was the sun, the moon, and the stars.

man, was it fun to dress her up in adorable little outfits.

and that hair!  she had tons and tons of hair right from day one.

she looks a little pissed off in this one, huh?  it was a glimpse into the future.  although i suppose i deserved it for making her walk around with those rollers in her hair.

but come on...she was MY PRESHUS.

and halloween was fun again with her around.

she made everything fun, really.

and she was a great little traveler.

this was kindergarten.

and this was the one and only time i was ever able to get her into any sort of cheer uniform...halloween, of course.

disneyland, of course.  we went as often as we possibly could, and back then it didn't cost an arm and a leg to go.

the hub adored her from the moment he met her.

she used to let me wear stuff that matched what she was wearing.

oh, and she'll probably kill me for this one.  remember that haircut i told you about yesterday...the one she absolutely despised?  yup.

but she grew it back out and started her transition from slightly awkward little girl to beautiful, confident, strong, smart young lady.

and as the years go by, our relationship just keeps getting better and better.  yeah, i'm still her mom and we don't always see eye to eye on everything, but we have such a great time together.  we get into all sorts of crazy shenanigans and make each other laugh and piss each other off and get into arguments and hug it out and then do it all over again.  like, all the damn time.  she's a wonderful big sister to the bean and is always willing to help out whenever we need it, and i just love her more than i can even find words to express.

guuuuurrrrrrrl.  you may be old enough to do practically anything you want now, but you'll always be my baby.

always.

it will never end.

sorry not sorry.

love you!  let's go grab a drink now!

WEIRD.  SO WEIRD.
