the hub's a VIP

so remember a couple of weeks ago when the girls and i spent a rainy sunday at knott's berry farm for a makeup birthday celebration for one of the bean's friends?  yeah, so while we were sitting here:

the hub was out in los angeles, sitting here:

yup.  he was seated in, like, the third row at microsoft theater all comfy and cozy out of the rain amongst a ton of musicians and celebrities.  one of his cigar buddies had gotten VIP passes somehow, and when he invited the hub to join him he somehow mixed up his days and ended up double booking himself.  although i gotta admit, given the choice between knott's berry farm and VIP tickets to the american music awards...well, i'd be throwing up deuces too.

they started out hanging around the red carpet.

he got to meet miss america, but didn't get to take a picture with her.  because by the time he actually got to talk to her and ask for a selfie, his phone battery literally died the second he held it up.  WOMP WOMP.

totally thought this was lady gaga, but it turned out to be...well, not lady gaga.

tons of press present, of course.

mark cuban was in the row just behind him.

and donnie wahlberg totally mad dogged him for some unknown reason.

he saw bruno mars:

maroon 5:

chrissy teigen:

tim mcgraw and drake (not together, haha).

and the show's hosts, jay pharaoh and gigi hadid.

they even had passes to some VIP afterparty where they had lots of free food and alcohol, but alas...no more celebrity sightings.  no idea who the "VIPs" were there, but either way...it was a pretty fantastic evening that he texted and picture messaged me and the old lady the whole way through.  we lived vicariously through him and scoured the audience shots when we got home to watch the show, but never did spot him.

tickets for the people's choice awards are on sale right now.  the old lady and i went to that a few years ago...maybe we should see if we can go again.  man, i love going to crap like that.
