we battled a little traffic on our way down, but we finally made it.
since we'd gotten there about an hour and a half after they opened, all of the tables and chairs were taken. but that's okay - we managed to find a nice spot on the grass under a tree that gave us a little shade.
once we dropped off our bags into a locker, we did a little exploring to see what there was to do. there were lots of great little areas for toddlers and little kids, plus a set of three water slides and my favorite...a lazy river.
along with what seemed like most of the park, we spent most of our time in that lazy river. it was lovely.
the park is small enough that it was no big deal for me to stay right where i was while the girls floated ahead of me or went back and forth from the slides to the play areas and back to the lazy river.
and then we made our way over to the pool to watch my cousin do her thing.
she was amazing - 100 meters, and she came in first place like it was no big deal.
by then, we were starving. we stood in line to pick up burgers and pizza and fries and brought it back to our shady spot to enjoy it all.
we stopped for slurpees and snacks at a 7-11 on the way home, and it was a great way to end a pretty awesome day. next up...raging waters! that's close enough to home that we might just take a lyft there and not have to worry about finding a parking spot. heh.
